Christopher "Chris" Stewart, born in 1951, is a multifaceted author and former musician best known as the original drummer and a founding member of the legendary band Genesis. A classmate of fellow bandmates Tony Banks and Peter Gabriel at Charterhouse School, Stewart was integral in forming early musical endeavors that led to the establishment of Genesis in 1967. After departing from the band in 1968 due to stylistic differences, Stewart traversed Europe before settling in the Alpujarras region of Andalucia, Spain, where he embraced a quieter life as a farmer. Together with his wife Ana Exton and daughter Chloë, he manages the farm "El Valero." Stewart's literary contributions include the acclaimed autobiographical trilogy, beginning with "Driving Over Lemons: An Optimist in Andalucia," which captures the joys and challenges of his farming experience in Spain. His subsequent works, "A Parrot in the Pepper Tree" and "The Almond Blossom Appreciation Society," further explore his adventures in rural life. In addition to his memoirs, Stewart has contributed to travel literature with entries in the Rough Guides series.
