Hanif Abdurraqib is a poet, essayist, and cultural critic hailing from Columbus, Ohio. His poetry has appeared in notable publications, including Muzzle, Vinyl, and PEN American, while his essays and music critiques have been featured in renowned outlets such as The FADER, Pitchfork, The New Yorker, and The New York Times. Abdurraqib's debut full-length poetry collection, *The Crown Ain't Worth Much*, published in June 2016, was a finalist for the Eric Hoffer Book Prize and nominated for a Hurston-Wright Legacy Award. He released the limited edition chapbook *Vintage Sadness* with Big Lucks in 2017, followed by his acclaimed essay collection *They Can't Kill Us Until They Kill Us*, which garnered numerous “book of the year” accolades in 2017. In February 2019, he published *Go Ahead In The Rain: Notes To A Tribe Called Quest*, which became a New York Times Bestseller. His second poetry collection, *A Fortune For Your Disaster*, was released in 2019 by Tin House. Abdurraqib is a proud graduate of Beechcroft High School.
