Rory Stewart, born in Hong Kong and raised in Malaysia, is a distinguished author and former politician with a rich background in diplomacy and military service. After serving as an officer in the British Army and studying history and philosophy at Balliol College, Oxford, he joined the British Diplomatic Service.
