With significant contributions to game theory, economic theory, social inequalities, law reforms, and Indology, Debroy played a vital role in shaping economic policy in India. A member of NITI Aayog from its inception in January 2015 until June 2019, he was honored with the Padma Shri in 2015, India's fourth-highest civilian award. His recent collaborative work, *Inked in India*, stands as a definitive compilation of India's fountain pen, nib, and ink manufacturers. Debroy received the Lifetime Achievement Award from both the US-India Business Summit in 2016 and The Australia India Chamber of Commerce (AICC) in 2022.
