Author : Peter Jenkins

Peter Jenkins, born on July 8, 1951, in Greenwich, Connecticut, is the eldest of six siblings. After graduating from Greenwich High School in 1969, he attended the Woodstock festival later that summer and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Ceramics from Alfred University in 1973. Jenkins embarked on a transformative Walk Across America on October 15, 1973, which concluded in mid-January 1979 in Florence, Oregon. When he is not traveling or exploring, he resides on a farm in middle Tennessee with his wife, Rita Jorgensen, and takes pride in being the father of six children: Aaron, Brooke, Rebekah, Jedidiah, Luke, and Julianne.
