Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus, better known as Suetonius (c. 69/75 – after 130), was a prominent Roman historian of the early Imperial period and a member of the equestrian class. His most significant work, *De Vita Caesarum*, presents detailed biographies of twelve emperors, from Julius Caesar to Domitian.
