As a Pulitzer Prize finalist for investigative reporting, he garnered numerous accolades in both regional and national journalism. Lehr served as the Globe's legal affairs reporter and was a key member of the renowned Spotlight Team. Prior to his time at the Globe, he reported for The Hartford Courant and holds a law degree. Lehr is the author of *The Fence: A Police Cover-up Along Boston's Racial Divide*, an Edgar Award finalist, and coauthor of the bestseller *Black Mass: Whitey Bulger, the FBI and a Devil’s Deal*, which also won an Edgar Award, and its sequel, *Whitey: The Life of America’s Most Notorious Mob Boss*. He was a John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford University from 1991 to 1992 and currently resides outside Boston with his wife and four children.
