In the 1980s, he captured his experiences in a series of memoirs, famously declaring, "Nobody knows anything" about the film industry. His notable works include the screenplay adaptations of his own novel, *The Princess Bride*, and acclaimed films like *Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid*, for which he won an Academy Award for Original Screenplay, and *All the President's Men*, for which he received an Academy Award for Adapted Screenplay. Additionally, Goldman earned two Edgar Awards for his contributions to film. He passed away in New York City on November 16, 2018, at the age of eighty-seven, leaving behind a legacy of impactful storytelling.
